Mine level
Ore concentrate
Tungsten ore concentrate from domestic and international mines, with the mine of origin recorded for each lot.
Tungsten recycling and supply
Hamerdon is an American metals company starting in tungsten recycling. Hamerdon purchases tungsten scrap from US sources, including tungsten carbide, and supplies ore concentrate, APT and tungsten powder through a network of domestic and international suppliers. Each lot ships with origin and chain-of-custody documentation to support NDAA and DFARS compliance review.
Supply network
In addition to recycled scrap, Hamerdon sources material through domestic and international suppliers at three stages of production. Material from every stage is documented under the same lot record system.
Mine level
Tungsten ore concentrate from domestic and international mines, with the mine of origin recorded for each lot.
Refining
Ammonium paratungstate sourced from refiners with documented feedstock origin.
Powder
Tungsten metal powder for heavy alloy and carbide production, traceable through APT to the mine or scrap source.
Recovered scrap
Scrap purchased by Hamerdon is sent to processors as APT and powder feedstock and tracked under the same lot system.
Hamerdon does not source from China, Russia, North Korea or Iran, the covered nations under 10 U.S.C. 4872.
Mines, refiners and powder producers interested in supplying Hamerdon may submit an enquiry.
10 U.S.C. 4872 and DFARS 252.225-7052
The Department of Defense restricts the acquisition of tungsten from China, Russia, North Korea and Iran. The current restriction applies to melting and powder production. Effective January 1, 2027, it extends to the mining and production of tungsten ore and feedstock, including recycled material.
Covered material
Tungsten metal powder, tungsten heavy alloy, and finished or semi-finished components that contain tungsten heavy alloy.
Covered nations
The clause flows down to subcontracts for items containing covered material and applies to lower-tier suppliers as well as prime contractors.
From January 1, 2027
Recycled feedstock comes into scope. Buyers will require documentation of where scrap originated as well as where it was melted. Hamerdon records scrap origin at the point of collection.
This summary is provided for general information and does not constitute legal advice. Requirements should be confirmed against the applicable contract clauses.
Suppliers and buyers
Hamerdon purchases tungsten scrap from US sources and supplies documented tungsten to manufacturers and defense suppliers.

For suppliers and recyclers
Hamerdon purchases scrap from recyclers, scrap dealers, machine shops, toolmakers and manufacturers. Tungsten carbide in all forms is a priority material. Each lot is reviewed for material and documentation, and terms are agreed before shipment.
Mixed or unusual material is assessed case by case on receipt of a description.

For buyers
Hamerdon supplies powder producers, alloy makers, manufacturers and defense suppliers with recovered feedstock, ore concentrate, APT and tungsten powder, with origin documented at each stage.
Availability is confirmed on receipt of specification, volume and delivery timing.
Request supplyFor mines and producers
Hamerdon works with tungsten mines and developers outside China, Russia, North Korea and Iran to place concentrate with US processors. From January 1, 2027, DFARS 252.225-7052 also covers where tungsten is mined, so US defense supply chains will need a record that starts at the mine. We build that record lot by lot, from the mine gate to the buyer's receiving dock.

Recycler onboarding
Recyclers and scrap dealers with recurring tungsten volumes, including carbide, can be onboarded as approved suppliers. Qualification is completed once, after which lots move under agreed terms.
